Walk-and–Talk is a mindfulness-based body oriented therapy that encourages clients to relax, get grounded, release physical tension, breathe deep and receive mind-body insight while processing experiences in a different way.
It also promotes creative thinking, improves physical wellbeing and increases physiological responses that empower the body to fight against the effects of anxiety, depression and insomnia.
Before the sessions, which are 50 minutes long, you have a choice between 4 pre-established routes around Purley CR8;
On the day of the session, we meet at the designated route start and we “walk and talk”; contracting for this type of therapy is slightly different-as confidentiality can be sometimes compromised due to other people using the same route-though generally speaking they are extremely quiet.
As the routes are around fields/woodlands/open spaces-please be aware that dogs and live stock are often present; good walking shoes and outdoor wear (rain coat, etc) highly recommended.
Depending on speed/terrain and route chosen we will walk around 2 miles during our session. We end the session at our initial starting point.
